The purpose of the Center for Campus Fire Safety is to provide persons, colleges and universities throughout the world with information, education, services and representation to enhance their professionalism and capabilities to protect students, faculty and staff from the devastation of fire. To carry out this purpose the Center shall:
- Conduct research and studies of major problems affecting campus fire safety at the institution, community, state, provincial, territorial, regional and national levels.
- Develop and effectuate an active program dedicated to the continual well-being and fire safety of the campus community.
- Serve as the recognized organization for the exchange of ideas, information, knowledge, and experience in areas affecting the safety of students, faculty, staff and property from fire.
- Encourage and develop public education in fire prevention for the preservation of human life and material resources from destruction by fire.
- Cooperate with all organizations to promote programs that further the goals and objectives of campus fire safety.
There are three different membership types:

| Regular Membership | You have responsibility for fire safety programs, policy and/or practices on a college or university, or you are in the Fire service or you are a governmental person who has an interest in, or responsibility for, fire safety programs on or with a college or university. | If you maintain current dues-paying status, you shall be entitled to hold elective office, serve on the board of directors and vote on all matters requiring a vote of the general membership unless otherwise prohibited herein. New regular members shall be entitled to voting privileges fifteen days after receipt of initial membership dues | Associate Membership | You are interested in the goals and objectives of the Center, but are not eligible for Regular membership. You are not a business, corporation, organization or representative of same. |
Associate members shall have all the benefits of Regular membership, except they are not eligible to hold the office of President, Vice-President or Secretary/Treasurer. Interested Businesses, corporations, organizations or their representatives should consider an Affiliate Membership. | Affiliate Membership | You are a person or representing a business, corporation or organization/association interested in the affairs of the CCFS but who are not eligible for a Regular or Associate membership | Affiliate members shall be entitled to participate in the Center, except they are not eligible to hold elective office, serve on the board of directors or have voting privileges. Please note: Membership services for Affiliate members will be less than those afforded Regular and Associate members. For example, to maintain the privacy of our Regular and Associate members, Affiliate members will not have access to the Regular and Associate member area on the web. While access to member information is restricted, the profile page you create on our site as an Affiliate member to promote your organization and products will be seen by all our members. |
There is an annual cost. Regular and Associate Memberships are $40 per year. Affiliate Memberships are $150 per year.
It is a private Member area where you can register, tell us about yourself, share what you have done in the Campus Fire Safety Arena, and learn about other members. Your membership information will NOT be given to the general public.
You will also to our Affiliate member profiles and their products and services that are appropriate to fire safety in the university.
In the near future we will construct our Resource Center where we will post a wealth of valuable resources and a Career Center for members to advertise job listings. You will also be able to post and share information with members.
Once you join, you will also receive a free individual membership in Fire-Professionals.com, the newest networking online site for the global fire protection industry. Your contact information will not be displayed on this website, but you will have the ability to join in some of the networking opportunities, post news, suggest links, search the help wanted and use their B2B classified advertising section at no cost, and more.
Yes, you will receive a Welcome letter from the Executive Director, Amy Hamel and the Board, a lapel pin, and a decal to start, with discounts and offers throughout the year as appropriate.
