Overview

The Center for Campus Fire Safety (CCFS) provides basic information about fire fatalities that occurred on a university or college campus, or that occurred within the town where the campus is located. This data is collected from news sources from around the country and the accuracy of the reported data cannot be guaranteed.


CCFS Offers Three Levels of News

1) Breaking News:  Breaking News will be posted on the home page of our website and automatically pushed out to those that sign up to receive it. Breaking News will include basic information about fire fatalities that occurred on a university or college campus, or that occurred within the town where the campus is located. For additional definition, click here.

Breaking News will also include large fires where students may have been injured or the loss of property is
significant.


2) Regular News:  CCFS also collects regular news items addressing smaller campus related fire incidents, or fires without major injury. This information will NOT be included in your breaking news email, however it can easily be viewed by visiting our NEWS page through the navigation bar, or by clicking: www.campusfiresafety.org/news

3) Archived News:  Our news is archived for those of you doing research. We began archiving in 2009. You can reach the archived news from the NEWS button, or by choosing: www.campusfiresafety.org/news-archives


Statistics: 

CCFS also compiles statistics involving fire fatalities.  Our statistics are updated continually and can be reviewed in our Resources section or simply by chosing: www.campusfiresafety.org/firefatalitystatistics
