UL’s worldwide family of companies and network of service providers includes 62 laboratory, testing and certification facilities serving customers in 99 countries. Accidental death and property destruction from fire are universal problems shared
around the world by local fire services and the citizens they serve. Unfortunately, no community is free from deliberate or accidental fire threats.

Whether they are in Chicago, Buenos Aires, Beijing or London or any city in between, the contents of homes and workplaces all burn in the same fashion … with the same devastating results.

With its roots firmly in fire safety, Underwriters Laboratories® has earned a global reputation as a leader in applying its testing methods, highly sophisticated fire data modeling techniques and technical expertise to addressing fire-related issues.

From testing new technologies to solving decadesold problems, UL fire research is core to our public safety mission and our ongoing contribution to societal well-being.
