New Brunswick, NJ, November 2-5

Registration will open in the first quarter of 2020

2020 marks the 20th anniversary of the fire at Seton Hall.
Join us as we look back "After the Fire".

The 4 P's of our Forum

People .... We'll welcome Shawn and Alvaro, CCFS Lifetime Members, and Seton Hall Survivors - and we'll look back over the last 20 years of their courageous battle, and their efforts to help educate college students about campus fire safety. Several other survivors, parents, educators, will also be part of our event - along with key people that helped Shawn and Alvaro to tell their story and to help other students.

Places ..... The Seton Hall incident had a major impact on fire codes and campus fire safety over the last 20 years too.  Worldwide and nationwide fire and life safety codes experts, major manufacturers, non-profit partners, engineers and consultants will present and participate in panel discussions concerning the protection and prevention solutions implemented to protect lives and property since the Seton Hall incident.

Progress ..... Twenty + years have also passed since the initial campus fire safety talks and the first Forum, held at NFPA Headquarters.  CCFS has grown considerably since then and today is the only nationwide, member-based, non-profit organization, dedicated exclusively to college campus, and off-campus, fire and life safety.

Presidents ..... We'll also celebrate our past and current CCFS Presidents and key contributors over the last twenty + years to share their history with CCFS and their vision for the future of campus fire safety. We're still working out the details of our President's Reception ... but we're planning to pay our respect to those lost on 9-11, and will tour the memorial wall at the World Trade Center. (Sponsored by Johnson Controls).

You won't want to miss this incredible event!!!

About our Forum ... Campus Fire Forum is the only national conference that focuses exclusively on campus fire and life safety issues and continues to offer you the opportunity to learn from the experts and interact with campus fire safety professionals. We will address issues that are critical to fire & life safety on and off-campus.  If you can only attend one training forum a year ... this is the one to attend!  Hosted by Rutgers and Montclair University.

About the Seton Hall Fire: In the early morning hours of January 19, 2000, the lives of thousands or maybe even millions were changed as a result of a great tragedy. On the campus of Seton Hall University in South Orange, New Jersey, while most of the more than 600 freshman slept, an arson fire was started in the 3rd-floor lounge of the 6-story freshmen residence hall, Boland Hall. As the fire alarms wailed, most students thought it was just another false fire alarm, like the 30 or more false alarms that sounded the semester before. No one had any idea that there was a real fire, let alone where the fire was or how to get out of harms way. [ MORE

The Seton Hall fire was the beginning of what has grown to nationwide campus fire safety efforts.  We want everyone to hear the message from Shawn and Al, and others involved in the monumental changes that occurred over the last 20 years on both the fire safety education side and the code changes and improvements.

Your donation will help those that cannot afford to attend.  If you are interested in helping others attend our conference, we have three packages:  Simply email ctabor@campusfiresafety.org for an invoice or for additional information:

Bronze Donation - $250.     Silver Donation - $500.  Gold Donation - $1000.

Your Donations will help to provide food, lodging and/or travel stipends for those that want to share their story about the Seton Hall Fire, and/or local students that want to attend.  If we are able to collect additional funds we will offer a stipend to potential attendees who's school may not be able to fund their attendance.

All who donate will be listed on our website and in conference materials. We are a non-profit, 501C3 organization and your donation will be tax deductible.
